Mission Statement
The mission of the Dr. N. H. Jones Media program is to ensure that the students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. This is accomplished by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats; by providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas; and by working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
Circulation Policy
Each student in Kindergarten may check out one book at a time. Each student in 1st through 5th grade may check out up to two books at a time. All books may be kept for two weeks.
Overdue Items and Renewals
There are no fines for overdue materials, however, in the case of extremely late materials, students may have their library privileges restricted. Books may be renewed for an additional two weeks, for no more than two renewals.
Donations
Gifts of gently-loved books are always appreciated. They may be added to the media center collection, given directly to students and teachers, or donated to school media centers in the area or the public library.
Teachers
Faculty and staff are encouraged to use the Media Center for professional and recreational purposes. The Media Center offers teachers a variety of resources and services, and the staff is always willing to assist teachers in any way possible. The Media Center also has a Professional Collection with books in all curricular areas to enhance instruction and keep you up-to-date in your field of expertise. If you are interested in having the library purchase a book or other material for your curricular use, please contact the librarian.
