LEGO Club

It’s never too early to discover STEM. FIRST LEGO League.*

This club is designed to introduce the STEM concepts to young elementary students between the ages 7 to 11 while exciting them through a brand they know and love - LEGO®.

Guided by two or more adult Coaches, teams (grades 2-3, grades 4-5) explore a real-world scientific problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, water conservation, and many other exciting world topics. etc.

Then they create a Show Me poster that illustrates their journey of discovery and introduces their team. In Lego Robotics, grades 4-5:

  • They learn to program and code missions on a computer, then they bluetooth the programs to the robot and work on perfecting each of the 20 missions to complete.
  • They build prototypes to solve real world problems. This year is to have students learn all about water – how we find, transport, use, or dispose of it. During the process, teams learn about teamwork, the wonders of science and technology, and mathematics.
  • Core Values, which include respect, gracious professionalism, sharing, problem solving, and working together as a team.
  • At the close of each season, teams from central, Florida come together to compete with other teams in hopes to make it to state. They also share their prototypes, discuss core values, celebrate, and have fun!
